DescriptionThe Thringstone Trust was set up by the Rt. Hon. Charles Booth c1911 to administer the Thringstone House Club and its premises. In 1919 his widow set up the Thringstone Womens' Trust to establish an institute for Women, Social Club for Girls and instruction in the domestic arts. These trusts were for the benefit firstly for inhabitants of Thringstone and then for the parishes of Whitwick, Swannington, Worthington, Osgathorpe, Coleorton and Belton. The premises and administration passed to the County Council in 1950-51.
